Adler's Nursery
Here are a few more pictures of Adler's nursery. We are lacking a few more things and we will be done. I was so excited to find out the gender of the baby so we could start designing the nursery. This is something I had dreamed about for years. I am not a big fan of themed nurseries, so opted to go with a color scheme instead. The Saturday after Thanksgiving my mom, cousin, SIL, and I began project nursery. We first started off with picking yummy fabrics for the bedding and rocker and everything fell together from there. The next thing I picked out was the Iron bed. This was a gift from my mom and dad. I wanted something that was gender neutral and could be used again if we have more children. I found this one from Bratt Decor. I loved the pewter finish! We then found the changing table and black side table from a little boutique in Marlow, OK. The price was too good to pass up. We had one wall left for a piece of furniture and wanted a bookshelf. My brother volunteered to make this for his little nephew. He did an amazing job! This may be my favorite piece in the room! The next thing was artwork. I had seen the alphabet idea on pinterest and decided to do it above the changing table. It is hard to tell in the pictures, but we added some burlap throughout the room to bring in another natural texture. For this reason, I elected to keep the alphabet the "bare wood". On the wall behind the bed we painted an ogee design on the wall. The ogee pattern is in a color that is slightly different color than the wall. I wanted to keep everything in the room fairly soft.
Things lacking:
Large Black Frame - I have ordered a large black frame to go behind the baby bed. In the frame we plan to put a black and white picture of baby Adler after he is born.
Window Treatment - I met with a seamstress this morning. She is going to make floor to ceiling panels for the windows. We chose a white linen fabric that will add more softness to the room.
As I mentioned in the "Project Nursery" post, I love the way it turned out!
